Creating Custom Options
Overview
This topic describes how to create and update Custom Options for skyshelf items.
From the main menu, select Manage Skyprintstore > Update Options.
Click the Add button.
Enter the Name of the option, and a brief description if necessary.
Select how the option is priced: Per Unit, per 1,000, per Order, or per Set.
Enter the Price and, if applicable, Setup and Minimum charges.
The left panel allows you to validate the sky option. In the example below, standard padding is available only for items printed on light weight paper (bond, writing, text). If you wanted to offer padding for cover paper, you would create a separate sky option with cover paper checked instead of book.
The Skypricer lets you create an unlimited number of sky options. Five come predefined out of the box - three for folding and scoring, two for padding. Pick any one of the five, and the pick list now comes up empty. What may look like a bug is actually the program's internal validation: A job can only be folded one way or another, but not both. Ditto for padding. And in 30+ years of owning a print shop, I've never once padded folded sheets, or wondered how I could fold pads. Long story short, when you assign one of the five predefined options, the rest stop being legitimate.
When you select pricing per set, an entry field appears that lets you enter the quantity per set. For options priced per unit you have the choice of offering a quantity discount. In the example below, you would offer a 10% discount on orders for 3 to 9 pieces, and a 20% discount on orders for 10 or more.
