Quoting Custom Digital
Overview
This topic describes how to quote a custom digital product.
Step by Step
From the main menu, click the Quote button.
•Click the F2 button.
•Click Digital in the black panel on the right, then double-click Digital, D4/1, 8-1/2x11.
•Click the button to the right of the F2 button, or hold down the Ctrl-Key and press F2.
•Enter "Bestbuy Mailers" in the Name field.
•Click the small button in the black panel (pointed to by the arrow) to change the run configuration from 4/1 to 4/4, from four-color on the front, black on the back, to four-color front and back.
•Left-click the Variable Data slider until it shows 100%. At that setting, every sheet will be personalized.
•Click the rightmost radio-button underneath Coverage to shift into high-range, then right-click the Coverage slider until it shows 40%. The three radio buttons act like a low-medium-high transmission, tripling the available range of percentages to fifteen.
•Click the Properties button. Move the Makeready slider to High. Click OK.
If the job were to be printed on heavyweight paper on a low volume press, you would need to slow the runtime to match the manufacturer's recommendations. High production presses will generally run at full speed regardless of weight. In that case, the runtime slider should be left at its lowest setting.
Zooming in
In the print quote window, click the white Product panel to open a product zoom window. The red indent on the Ctrl-F2 button tells us this is a custom product. The D in D4/4 says it's digital.
